The ceremonial chocolate was exactly what I needed, exactly when I needed it. I took part in the collective ceremony.
It has been years since my last ceremony with these teachers and since then I’ve become disconnected from loved ones, myself and people in general. As the teachers began their lesson I almost immediately felt the broader connection to the collective group participating in the ceremony that day – a relief for many reasons but most of all it was the joy and comfort of knowing I was not alone in working to heal my inner wounds. For the first time in many years my heart reached out to individuals and groups of people. The lessons during my ceremony were numerous; however I felt like something was holding back, like I was ready to dive deeper, however the lessons didn’t go there. I trusted in the wisdom of our teachers that they wouldn’t give me more than I was ready to chew on and handle.
Advice to anyone considering this or on the fence, follow the guidance provided on this site for the preparation (mental, physical, set and setting) which is key. Let the lessons wash over you and just accept that your journey is going to go wherever it is going to go. These lessons are a dance, the more fluid you are the better your experience; if you’re rigid, it will be clumsy and potentially very difficult.
