I was not able to participate in the collective ceremony due to the fact I had to work and, in fact, work very hard. I did, however, get to sample the chocolate hearts that were offered at a different time. I am no stranger at all to such things, having worked with a few medicines over several decades, actually. Some from the jungles of Peru, some from the high deserts of the Andes, and some fungus from right here in the United States.
I was skeptical of these chocolates, so I pondered why even bother enrobing this particular (or any entheogen) medicine in chocolate; it seemed kind of too cute. “The bad taste of these medicines is a part of the charm and process”, I reasoned – “if you can’t deal with the taste and physical uneasiness, then you don’t deserve the benefit”. It was kind of a way to keep certain people out who wanted things too easy or on their own terms.
I ordered some anyway out of curiosity. I have to say, I was very impressed with the quality of them. They provided a very clean and pristine experience. No physical discomfort comes from a certain brew that is popular these days. No mental backwash or weird emotional cul-de-sac type effects. Clean and conscious like a Buddha. Great product, well done – very well done. And they do taste great as well. Who knew.
Thanks.
